Plot summary

The film revolves around Ravi (Mithun Chakraborty), a young man who returns to his village after completing his education. He is shocked to see the plight of the farmers who are exploited by the cruel Thakur Singh (Prem Chopra), the landlord who owns most of the land. Ravi decides to stand up for the farmers and challenge Thakur Singh in the panchayat elections. However, he faces many obstacles and enemies, including Thakur Singh's son Shakti (Shakti Kapoor), who is also in love with Ravi's childhood friend Kanchan (Amrita Singh). Ravi also has to deal with his own family problems, as his father Govind (Shreeram Lagoo) is an alcoholic and his sister Laxmi (Rameshwari) is married to an abusive husband.
